We are not important, but we will try to be good and responsive

The fire power of a conceited man is limited to his imagination only. We will not try to be "important" but we will try to be responsive to your needs and preferences in literary works.

Only you can make this site good or better.

You can be a member. You don't have to. But it will help us to defray expenses and to plan for better things to bring you such as an annual print anthology.

This is trite to say --- but help us to serve you!

The Seventeenth Day of the Eleventh Month, We Are off and Running

We are not innocent babes in the woods -
Together the editors have over a century's worth of
writing, editing, and publishing experiences.

We thought it is high time we share with you and to build with you a viable literature in the Pacific Northwest.

Despite its name and origin, Five Willows Literary Review is not anymore Asian or Oriental than hot dogs and French fries. We look forward to seeing any work in any genre that exhibit the qualities of good writing -- deep, meaningful, original, and frugal. Give us your best. And we would appreciate your help. We are all volunteers.

We would like to thank Google which provided all the tools for this blog website gratis. Such is our humble beginnings.

I wish I had known this earlier in life and swam like a goldfish, rather than been maddened as a hound in a chase. I would have been leisurely, regal, and admired by emperors for my calmness and deep reflections. But, here is autumn, and there is still gold in the maple leaves that fly about me.
